Noida: three arrested over fake jobs, online betting Frauds
Noida, Dec. 10 -- The Noida police have arrested three people in two separate cyber fraud cases in Phase 1, involving alleged online betting operations, and fake job postings, officials said.
On Monday, police arrested Vishal Kumar, 23, alleged mastermind behind a fake call centre that duped unemployed youth under the pretext of offering jobs in MNCs. "Seven women also worked for him. We have issued notices to them for their role," said Shavya Goyal, ADCP, Cybercrime Branch. A case has been lodged under the BNS sections and the IT Act.
On Tuesday, two Delhi residents were arrested from Sector 2 for allegedly running a fake call centre promoting online gaming and betting apps.
"Once trust was established, the victims invested larger amounts, which were siphoned off into various accounts," the ADCP said, adding that a case has been lodged.Asmita Seth...
