Noida, Feb. 23 -- Chief of naval staff Admiral Karambir Singh on Saturday paid homage to slain soldiers at the 19th annual wreath-laying ceremony held at Noida Shaheed Smarak. Addressing a gathering of veterans and family members of slain soldiers from the district, Admiral Singh said it was not being easy being a kin of soldiers and ceremonies like these will keep the memories of the slain soldiers alive. The annual event is always held in the presence of a chief of one of the armed forces. The navy chief paid homage to the 38 slain soldiers from the district attached to different services, who have over the years laid down their lives for the nation.
