molester 'monk' sent to 14-days' judicial custody
New Delhi, Oct. 4 -- A Delhi court on Friday sent self-styled monk Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, accused of molesting 17 students, to a 14-day judicial custody.
Saraswati was produced in the Patiala House Courts on Friday afternoon after the end of his five-day police custody.
Delhi Police did not seek further custody.
The 62-year-old former chairman of Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management-Research, a Vasant Kunj-based management institute, was arrested from Agra after an almost two-month chase. He was subsequently sent to police custody. Saraswati is currently facing at least five criminal cases, two from 2009 and 2016, and three registered this year, related to mass molestation, cheating his employer, and use of forged diplomatic number plates on luxury vehicles.HTC...
