Noida, Oct. 7 -- Police arrested a man on Monday in Noida, two days after a purported video on social media showed him assaulting and threatening a sanitation worker with a gun in Sector 49. The accused, identified as Yogesh Yadav, is a resident of Behlolpur in Sector 63, said police officials. The weapon used in the incident and his Toyota Fortuner SUV have also been seized, they added. "The accused revealed that on Saturday afternoon, he had come to meet his wife at his in-laws' home in Hoshiyarpur in Sector 49,and had an argue -ent with her. While returning, he got into a confrontation with sanitation worker, identified as Sanjeev Kumar, over giving way to his SUV, leading to the incident. The process to cancel his arms license will be initiated," said ACP (Noida) Twinkle Jain. In his police complaint, Kumar said: "The accused pulled out his gun and hit the back side of the gun on my chest. Later, he pointed the pistol at my head." Based on the victim's complaint, a case under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, was registered against the suspect.
