Greater Noida, July 9 -- A 36-year-old man allegedly died by suicide in Greater Noida's Beta 2 area on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, police said, adding that his wife also attempted suicide and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital and is critical. According to police, the couple would allegedly often fight over the man returning late after work. His wife would tell him to return early and he often told her that it was not possible in his job, officers said. The deceased was a manager at a factory in Site V, Greater Noida and lived with his wife, 33, and three children at a rented accommodation in Sector 36. "Late Monday night, we received information from the hospital that a couple attempted suicide. Upon arrival, it was revealed that the husband died while the wife was undergoing treatment," said Beta 2 SHO Vinod Kumar. No suicide note was found at the spot and a complaint has also not been registered yet. "Investigation revealed that at 8.55pm, the woman had messaged her husband to enquire when he was returning. As he shared his location, saying he would arrive soon, she texted 'It has turned into an everyday drama'," the SHO added. Police said that she later made multiple WhatsApp calls to her husband. At 11.56pm, she called a relative and asked him to visit them. "At 12.18am, when the relative arrived, she found the couple unconscious," officials said. "The relative rushed the couple to hospital for immediate medical attention, " they added. "Their children were asleep in another room... It is believed that as the woman learnt about her husband's death, she also attempted to die," the SHO added....
