JNUSU ORGANISES marcH IN support OF JAILED activists
New Delhi, Sept. 14 -- The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union (JNUSU) on Friday held a "freedom march" from Ganga Dhaba to Sabarmati Dhaba, expressing solidarity with student activist Sharjeel Imam, former Jawaharlal Nehru University scholar Umar Khalid, and others jailed in the Delhi riots conspiracy case.
The march came on the same day when the Supreme Court adjourned by a week the hearing on their bail pleas. Several relatives of the accused, including Khalid's father, participated in the protest. Placards and slogans highlighted what students called prolonged and unjust incarceration. "It's been over five years since Umar, Sharjeel, Meeran, Gulfisha, and others have been wrongfully jailed by the BJP-RSS regime," JNUSU said.HTC...
