GraP-iii: Greater Noida intensifies steps Against pollution
GREATER NOIDA, Nov. 13 -- The Greater Noida authority on Wednesday said that it has intensified measures to mitigate pollution under the Graded Response Action Plan (Grap) Stage-3 that was put into effect on Tuesday.
"The authority has deployed a series of measures to contain dust and improve air quality. A total of 60 water tankers have been pressed into service for regular sprinkling on city roads and major construction stretches. Alongside this, eight mechanical sweeping machines are operating across the city to ensure roads remain clean," said Ravi Kumar NG, CEO (Greater Noida authority).
These machines also spray water during the cleaning process to prevent dust from rising, although in some areas, residents have complained that cleaning operations themselves are creating dust. To tackle emissions from construction activities, the authority has installed 186 anti-smog guns at various builder sites across the city.
