Cop suspended for not providing security
Ghaziabad, Sept. 9 -- Ghaziabad police on Monday suspended an officer from Nandgram police station for allegedly failing to provide security to two witnesses in the Noida police's Elvish Yadav case despite directions of the Supreme Court on May 13. Officials said the SHO, now posted at Kotwali police station, was suspended for non-compliance with the apex court's order.
"The SHO (Dharmpal Singh) was suspended as he didn't comply with top court's directions. We've now provided security to the two people," said DCP (city zone) Dhawal Jaiswal. The suspension is prima facie, and will be followed by a departmental inquiry as per procedure. The SHO will also have liberty to file his response.

On June 6, 2024, it directed the provision of security, but Ghaziabad police didn't provide security for about 3 months. When complained again, they gave security," said Saurabh Gupta.
He said the security given in September 2024 was withdrawn in January. "We again reached the court. In February 2025, the court again ordered security reinstatement. Then, we went to the HC, and later to SC. The apex court on May 13 directed security should be allowed, and Nandgram SHO was asked to comply. The SHO didn't provide security, and we filed a contempt before the SC." . Before the next date on September 8, Gaurav Gupta was provided security on August 27 and me, day before the hearing," he added....
