Noida, Oct. 11 -- While the Supreme Court-appointed Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (Epca) in its latest order speaks of preventive measures, including a ban on diesel generator (DG) sets across Noida to control air quality October 15 onwards, confusion prevails whether it will be a blanket ban or the directions will come into effect only under 'very poor' or 'severe' air quality.

According to Epca, the directions to apply the measures under 'very poor' and 'severe' category of the Graded Response Action Plan (Grap) will be applicable from October 15 due to the advisory from its task force that has forecast adverse weather conditions October 12 onwards.
