Car rams divider, catches fire in Noida; both occupants safe
Noida, Dec. 13 -- A car crashed into a road divider before catching fire on Friday morning in Noida's Sector 71, police said. The car occupants, a couple, sustained minor injuries in the incident that took place around 4am.
According to police, the CNG car reached near the Sector 71 traffic signal when the driver lost control of the vehicle and the car crashed into the divider. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire within moments.
Two people, identified as Ayush, 42, and Dolly, 38, were inside the car at the time of the crash. "They were taking a U-turn when the incident occurred," said station house officer, Phase-3, Puneet Singh, adding that both individuals managed to escape the vehicle before the fire intensified.
"They sustained minor injuries," he added.
A fire service unit from Fire Station Phase-3 was dispatched to the spot. Chief fire officer (CFO) Pradeep Kumar said by the time the fire team reached the location, the two occupants had already moved out of the vehicle. "With assistance from the local police, both individuals were taken to the hospital by an ambulance," he said.
Since the crash was found to be accidental in nature, officers said no case was registered in the matter....
