Bikers make off with woman's gold chain from outside her Gzb home
Ghaziabad, Oct. 13 -- Two men on a motorbike allegedly snatched away a gold chain estimated to be worth around Rs.2 lakh from a 35-year-old woman in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, on Sunday morning, police said on Monday, adding that a case has been lodged and teams set up to apprehend the suspects.
The victim Babita Gupta, a homemaker living in Vasundhara locality, in her police complaint, stated that her chain weighed around 20 grams, said officers on Sunday.
"On Saturday at 6.25 am, when Gupta was watering plants outside her home with a hose pipe, two helmet-wearing men on a motorbike approached her, and the pillion rider snatched her gold chain," said an officer, urging anonymity, adding that before the woman or locals could chase them, they managed to flee.
The incident, however, got captured on a CCTV camera near the spot, and went viral on social media on Sunday.
"We have formed two teams to nab the suspects and are scanning the CCTV cameras to identify the registration number of the motorcycle," said assistant commissioner of police (Indirapuram) Abhishek Shrivastava, adding that a case under Section 304(2) (snatching) of the BNS was registered at Indirapuram police station on Sunday and further probe is on....
