NOIDA/GHAZIABAD, Oct. 30 -- After three consecutive days of "very poor" air following Diwali, air quality levels in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad have eased slightly this week, though pollution remains in the "poor" category across the western UP-NCR belt. Meteorologists, however, warned that the relief is likely to be short-lived as fog and mist begin to set in. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Noida had an AQI of 236 on Wednesday, Greater Noida 248, and Ghaziabad 266 - all classified as "poor." The previous day, the AQI stood higher at 290, 296, and 238, respectively. On Monday, Noida's AQI had plunged to 327 ("very poor"), while Greater Noida and Ghaziabad recorded 284 and 286 ("poor"). Officials attributed the improvement to a marginal rise in wind speed. He added that with night temperatures dropping and humidity high, fog and mist formation may trap pollutants closer to the surface in coming days. According to the India Meteorological Department, Noida and Ghaziabad recorded temperatures of around 30degC (maximum) and 18degC (minimum) on Wednesday....
