3 killed after tempo hits bike in nW Delhi
New Delhi, June 16 -- Three men died and another was injured after a speeding tempo hit their motorcycle in Bawana Industrial Area, north-west Delhi, late Saturday night, police said on Sunday.
The tempo driver fled, abandoning the vehicle. "All four suffered serious injuries as none had helmets," said DCP (outer-north) Hareshwar V Swami. Locals reported the accident near a factory on Connecting Road, Sector 3. Victims Bijay Yadav, 38, Ramakant Yadav, 30, Nandu Kumar, 23, and Rajaram Namlesh, 19, worked in nearby factories.
Police found them lying on the road and took them to Maharishi Valmiki Hospital, where Bijay, Ramakant and Nandu were declared dead. Namlesh was referred to a higher centre and is critical. "The bike was hit at a 90-degree angle by the speeding tempo," Swami added. A case of rash and negligent driving was registered.HTC...
