22-year-old man murders wife, brother-in-law before killing self in Gr Noida
Greater Noida, Sept. 30 -- A 22-year-old man from Pilibhit allegedly murdered his 21-year-old wife and six-year-old brother-in-law before dying by suicide at his in-laws' home in Greater Noida's Roza Jalalpur village in Bisrakh on Monday afternoon, police said.
Initial probe suggests the killings occurred in a "fit of rage" following a dispute, though the man's family suspects he was under the influence of a "supernatural power."
Police officers said the man had been married in May 2025 and had come with his wife to visit her parents around 10 days ago.
"On Monday around 4.30 pm, when his father-in-law and mother-in-law left home for routine work, he was alone with his wife, 21, and brother-in-law, 6, at home," said an officer associated with the investigation, requesting anonymity.
"During that period, a dispute took place, and he killed his wife and brother-in-law by bludgeoning their heads with a heavy object. He attacked multiple times on their heads and went out of the home for a few seconds in blood-soaked clothes," the officer cited above added.
Locals saw him before he returned inside the home and hanged himself, according to officers aware of the case.
"As we received information, a team was rushed to the spot and found that the man dead while his wife and brother-in-law were lying in a pool of blood close by in the same room," said Shavya Goyal, additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP), Central Noida.
"The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. It was suspected that the incident took place in a fit of rage following some dispute. Investigation is on, we will have answers soon," ADCP Goyal added....
