Mumbai, Oct. 28 -- Unseasonal rains are expected to continue in the city as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has extended its 'yellow alert' till Wednesday. As per the IMD, the city is likely to face thunderstorms and lightning along with light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds at 30-40kmph. The forecasts predict that the rain will intensify on Wednesday before subsiding on Thursday. Similar alerts have been sounded for Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. On Monday at 6pm, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued an orange alert, indicating extremely heavy rainfall. As per the IMD, the Santacruz station recorded 0.7mm of rain and the Colaba station logged 0.5mm of rain between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm on Monday.
