WPL matches likely behind closed doors
Navi Mumbai, Jan. 13 -- More than one Women's Premier League (WPL) match at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai this week is likely to be played behind closed doors due to its clash with the local municipal corporation elections.
With the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) elections on Thursday, WPL matches on Wednesday and Thursday are likely to be played without spectators, as the local police is learnt to have informed the BCCI about its inability to provide security for both cricket and elections.
UP Warriorz play Delhi Capitals on Wednesday, while defending champions Mumbai Indians take on UP Warriorz on Thursday. The match on Friday, between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants, may also bear the brunt of this clash.
On WPL's official ticketing app District, matches for Wednesday, Thursday as well as Friday have not been listed.
The MI vs Giants game on Tuesday and the double-header Saturday, after which the WPL will move to Vadodara, is set to be unaffected....
