India, April 22 -- Two-hundred-seventy-three large forest fires have been reported in Uttarakhand since February 15, when the official forest fire season begins, according to the Forest Survey of India (FSI) data, marking a 300% spike from the 85 large forest fire events reported during the same period last year.
