MUMBAI, Oct. 21 -- Aligning with the union government's Viksit Bharat 2047 plan, the draft of Maharashtra Vision 2047, was approved by the advisory body of state's ministers on Monday, and will be presented before the cabinet next week. As a roadmap for Maharashtra's development to celebrate 100 years of India's Independence in 22 years, it aims to build a $5 trillion economy. Highlights of the plan are: increasing urban per capita from $3840 today to $39,000, ensuring over three cities feature in the list of top 50 most liveable cities in the world and spreading the Metro grid across various cities, including Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), to 1100 kilometers. Other areas of development include increasing the state's green cover, providing housing to match the growing population, encouraging participation of female labour force and enhancing life expectancy.
