Two men dead in separate two-wheeler mishaps in city
MUMBAI, Dec. 4 -- Two men died in separate two-wheeler accidents in the western suburbs on Monday.
In the first incident, a speeding water tanker hit 24-year-old motorcyclist Timmappa Shantaraj near Oshiwara's Ashiana Society around 8am. Shantaraj, a Dharavi resident, was riding to his office in Goregaon when the tanker rammed his bike from behind.
Locals rushed him to Cooper Hospital, where he was declared dead before admission. Amboli Police later arrested tanker driver Jahangir Miraj under Section 106 of the BNS for causing death due to rash and negligent driving.
In the second incident, 27-year-old Amir Zaheer Syed, who was riding triple seat with two friends, died after their motorcycle skidded at Kalanagar bridge in BKC early Monday morning. Amir and his friends were returning from Mahim Dargah when rider Muhammad Ali Saeed Sheikh allegedly sped over a speed breaker and applied sudden brakes, causing all three to fall.
