Mumbai, April 14 -- The Vanrai police on Monday arrested five persons after a man and a woman attending an event at the Nesco Exhibition Centre in Goregaon East on Saturday died of alleged drug overdose. According to the police, the deceased were both 24-year-old students at a reputed college. They had gone to the exhibition centre on Saturday to attend a music concert and were rushed to a hospital after they allegedly consumed narcotic substances. While the duo died on Saturday, another woman who was attending the event with them was admitted to the Jogeshwari trauma centre and is still under treatment. On Monday, police arrested five persons, including the the Vice President (events and exhibitions) of Nesco and four men who attended the programme. "We have arrested the five accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and are ascertaining their roles," an officer from Vanrai police station said.
