CHENNAI, March 15 -- A day after it replaced the rupee (Rs.) symbol with the Tamil alphabet (translated as Ru), for the logo of the state budget of 2025-26, thereby stoking the already simmering tension between the Centre and state government over language, the Tamil Nadu government fired another salvo as part of the pushback against National Education Policy's (NEP) 2020 three-language formula (which includes reading Hindi) in its budget for the financial year 2025-26.
