Three constables suspended for helping bizman run sex racket in andheri hotel
umbai, April 12 -- M: Three police constables, two from Sahar Police Station and one from Vile Parle station, have been suspended for allegedly aiding a prostitution racket.
According to the police, the suspended personnel have been identified as Nilesh Shendge from Vile Parle police station, and Dhananjay Shitole and Pravin Waigankar from Sahar police station. Shendge's brother runs a hotel in the Sahar jurisdiction, and Shendge was allegedly involved in its operations.
The police suspect the hotel was being used for illegal activities. "Shitole and Waigankar were assigned to patrol the area. Despite being responsible for taking action, they allegedly allowed the illegal activities to continue," said a police officer.
The alleged nexus came to light after a separate police team conducted a raid at the premises. During the probe, it was found that Shendge, Shitole and Waigankar were in collusion, with the latter two allegedly leaking sensitive information about police action, resulting in failed raids.
An FIR has been registered at Oshiwara Police Station, and the case is being investigated by the BKC police. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated against the constables, the officer said....
