Suspended MPCB official returns, moved to BMC
MUMBAI, March 28 -- M Devender Singh, who was briefly suspended from his role as member secretary of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) last month, has been reinstated but transferred out of the board. In an order issued on Friday, he was posted as joint commissioner in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Singh was suspended in February during the budget session of the state legislature after he failed to attend a crucial meeting on pollution in Chandrapur. After a review by assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar, his suspension was revoked on March 9. On Friday, CM Devendra Fadnavis reinstated Singh but transferred him to the BMC. Sources said the move caused disquiet within the Shiv Sena....
