NEWDELHI, March 30 -- In devising its minimum income guarantee promise, the Congress had consulted leading French economist Thomas Pickety, whose work on income and wealth inequality have caught global attention, a leader of the party said in a television interview. The party also talked to Raghuram Rajan, former Reserve Bank of India governor and the Katherine Dusak Miller professor of finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and Abhijit Banerjee, the Ford Foundation international professor of economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said Praveen Chakravarty, chairperson of the Congress's data department.
