state appoints Shekar Singh as nashik Kumbh commissioner
MUMBAI, Oct. 8 -- Shekhar Singh as the commissioner of Kumbh Mela in Nashik. The state has also transferred seven other IAS officers on Tuesday.
Singh was previously the commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. As Kumbh Mela Commissioner, Singh is tasked with the responsibilities of avoiding stampedes and maintaining a smooth flow of the crowd of devotees.
M Devendra Singh, Ratnagiri district collector, is now the member secretary of the state Pollution Control Board. MSRDC joint managing director, Manuj Jindal, has taken his place.
Nashik district collector Jalaj Sharma is appointed as metropolitan commissioner of Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority. Meanwhile, Jalgaon collector Ayush Prasad is posted as Nashik district collector. The CEO of Thane Zilla Parishad, Rohan Ghughe, is now the district collector of Jalgaon.
Sanjay Kolte, the managing director of Shivshahi Rehabilitation Project, was appointed as sugar commissioner in Pune.
