Silchar, Dec. 12 -- The only known survivor among the 22 labourers onboard the dumper truck that plunged into a deep gorge in Arunachal Pradesh has returned home severely injured and is now undergoing treatment in Assam's Tinsukia district, people aware of the matter said. According to family members, Budheswor Deep (23) was one of 19 workers from Gela Pukhuri Tea Estate who had travelled to Arunachal Pradesh for construction work reportedly linked to a hostel project. A relative said Deep left home on December 8 morning, and when his phone became unreachable, they assumed it was due to poor mobile connectivity in the area. "On Wednesday, we found out he had survived an accident," said a family member. According to the family member, when Deep reached Tinsukia, he was critically injured and traumatised. HT attempted to speak to him, but he was unable to talk. His family, however, said he has slowly started speaking to them. "We asked him what happened to the vehicle, but he was so traumatised that he couldn't explain anything. District administration officials and police have spoken to him and told us they are investigating the incident," a relative said....
