Mumbai, June 24 -- In what brings an end to his rocky stint with Mumbai, Prithvi Shaw on Monday was granted a No Objection Certificate by the Mumbai Cricket Association after the batter expressed his wish to leave the domestic giants and play for another team. "The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) would like to inform that cricketer Prithvi Shaw had formally requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to represent another state as a professional player in the upcoming domestic season. After due consideration, the MCA has granted the NOC," MCA secretary Abhay Hadap said in a statement. Shaw, who has played five Tests and six ODIs, has over 4,500 runs in first-class cricket and broke into the national team after strong performances for Mumbai. But he was dropped from the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team last season over concerns around his fitness and "general conduct". Shaw last played for Mumbai in Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy final against Madhya Pradesh in December last year, which Mumbai won by five wickets. Speaking to the media in Bengaluru after the final, Mumbai skipper Shreyas Iyer had said about Shaw: "He needs to get his work ethics right, and if he does that, sky is the limit for him". On his part, Shaw, 25, said he is looking for opportunities elsewhere for his "growth and development as a cricketer". "At this juncture in my career, I have been presented with a promising opportunity to play professional cricket under another State Association, which I believe will further contribute to my growth and development as a cricketer," Shaw wrote to the MCA. He added: "It has truly been an honour and a privilege to be part of the MCA setup, and I am deeply grateful for the exposure and experience I have gained here."...
