Mumbai, Sept. 7 -- Sanjay Raut, a Rajya Sabha (RS) Member of Parliament and Sena leader, criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Central government over Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman's "act of God" comment.

Raut, in his weekly column Rokh Thok in the Sena mouthpiece Saamana, took on the BJP and said that blaming God for the failure of the government is an "insult to Hindutva".

During the 41st Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council meeting in the end of August, Sitharaman had referred to the Covid-19 pandemic as "an act of God" that disrupted the economy.
