India, Feb. 28 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected a petition seeking to stall the trial runs for the incineration of toxic waste from the Bhopal Gas tragedy site at Pithampur in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district, dismissing concerns over potential health risks to local residents and the possibility of soil and water contamination. The first trial run was scheduled for February 27, with two additional runs set for March 4 and 10. Each trial will involve the incineration of 10 tonne of waste.
