Rs.1.3L copper coils stolen from transformer
NAVI MUMBAI, April 10 -- In a major theft targeting public infrastructure, thieves vandalised a transformer and stole copper coils worth Rs.1.28 lakh in Raigad district, police said.
The Khalapur police said, the incident occurred around 3 am at a CCTV toll naka in Savroli. The accused allegedly pulled down a 200 KVA transformer installed on a pole, damaged it, and removed copper coils from inside the unit.
The transformer belongs to the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). Officials said the act could have disrupted the electricity supply in the area
