MUMBAI, July 18 -- As the monsoon session of the state legislature comes to a close, the state government chose to conduct a major bureaucratic reshuffle and transferred at least eight Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officers in various posts in Mumbai, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), and Pune. Manojkumar Suryavanshi, managing director of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), will replace Anil Pawar as the municipal commissioner of Vasai Virar. Meanwhile, Pawar has been appointed as the chief of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority of MMR. Nilesh Gatne will replace Suryavanshi as the managing director of the MTDC. Deepa Mudhol Munde, an IAS officer from the batch of 2011, managing director of Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited, public transport bus service provider for the city of Pune, has now been posted as the commissioner of social welfare in Pune.
