New Delhi, Sept. 27 -- Private sector lenders have said there is no liquidity crisis in the banking system and they are willing to participate in loan festivals meant to boost consumption ahead of the festival season, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman said following a meeting with private bankers and financial institutions. India's economic growth is expected to recover in the last two quarters of the financial year since consumer demand is expected to pick up during the festive season, the finance minister added. "I have not heard liquidity as a problem from anybody," Sitharaman said after the meeting with 29 private sector lenders, including eight banks, five non-banking finance firms, five housing finance companies and four micro-finance organisations. p15...
