PANVEL, May 5 -- The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) will unveil its new headquarters next year, promising a blend of modernity and eco-consciousness. The administrative building, christened as 'Swarajya', is situated on a five-acre plot in sector 16 of New Panvel. Officials said 40% of the building's construction work is completed. The project, covering 4,08,063 sqft in two phases, costs Rs.280 crore. Led by architect Hiten Sethi, aiming for a platinum rating from the Indian Green Building Council, it emphasises design and sustainability. Sanjay Katekar, the PMC project manager, notes ongoing construction on the third floor of the six-storey building. The building incorporates innovative grid, voided, and prestressed slab systems for efficient construction. Municipal commissioner Dr Prashant Rasal is overseeing progress, targeting completion by April 2025 with quality control measures and regular audits.
