MUMBAI, May 15 -- The Gamdevi police have busted an illegal parking racket near Girgaon Chowpatty and booked four persons who were allegedly running the racket after they charged a motorist Rs.100/hour as parking fee, who later received an e-challan for violating parking rules. According to the police, the four accused were booked based on a complaint lodged by Ankur Sachdev, a resident of Andheri West. Sachdev was trying to park his car near Chowpatty on Tuesday when a person approached him and asked him to park the vehicle opposite Starbucks on KM Munshi Marg. He even paid a fee of Rs.100 per hour to the four accused. However, when he returned to the spot later, police informed him that this was not a recognised parking lot and issued him an e-challan.
