Pacer Praduman bowls Sardar Patel to big win in Harris Shield
MUMBAI, Nov. 5 -- Sardar Vallabbhai Patel Vidyamandir, Kandivali 's left-arm pacer Praduman Yadav claimed 6/12 to bowl his side to a 202-run win over Thakur International, Kandivali in a first round match of the MSSA Harris Shield Cricket Tournament. Batting first, Sardar Vallabbhai Patel Vidyamandir scored 324 for nine wickets. Shivam Yadav scored a century while Gavin Kamble hit 72. In reply, Thakur International's batters floundered against the bowling of Praduman and were bowled out for 122.
The matches played at the Matunga Gymkhana, Chembur Gymkhana and Jolly Gymkhana, Ghatkopar were completed successfully, however, due to early morning rain several matches were washed out resulting in their games being decided through the toss.
Brief scores: St. Augustine's School, Vasai 93 all out (Arjun Bhanushali 37; Nikhil Gurav 4/23) lost to IES New English School 94/0 (Manveer Jain 51*, Vedang Mishra 37*). Sardar Vallabbhai Patel Vidyamandir, Kandivali 324/9 (Shivam Yadav 101, Gavin Kamble 72, Aman Ghadi 44; Vansh Dasadia 8/112) beat Thakur International, Kandivali 122 (Praduman Yadav 6/12). Anjuman Islam Khairul 179/4 (Umair Khan 56, Shayan Shaikh 33, Md. Jaid Ansari 47) beat Dr Antonio D'Silva 177 (Nikhil Verma 89; Armaan Ansari 5/57).
Friends Cricket Club, a member club of MCA, have filed a Writ Petition before the Bombay High Court raising objection to the inclusion of over 155 clubs in the voter list of the MCA elections slated for November 12, citing non-compliance with the MCA Constitution. The Court has directed the Election Officer to stay the election process until the matter is heard on Nov 6....
