Patna, Oct. 22 -- Nominations for the crucial second phase of assembly elections in Bihar closed on Tuesday as it became clear that the Opposition Grand Alliance had fielded more than one candidate on at least 11 seats. The last day for withdrawal of nominations for the second phase, where 122 seats vote on November 11, is October 23. On Monday, Rashtriya Janata Dal's (RJD) Sasaram candidate Satyendra Sah was arrested by Jharkhand Police after filing his nomination for the elections. Officials said that Sah was arrested by police as a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against him in connection with a 2004 dacoity case. Tensions within the Grand Alliance continued to simmer as the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) announced on Tuesday morning that it would not be contesting the Bihar polls,accusing both Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD and the Congress of "betrayal" and not following the coalition dharma. Earlier, Pashupati Paras had walked out of INDIA bloc in Bihar, saying he was not offered respectable seats.
