neighbour held for abetting woman's suicide
NAVI MUMBAI, Nov. 27 -- After a 22-year-old woman died by suicide in her Ulwe apartment on Monday, leaving behind a voice note alleging that a woman from her neighbourhood had caused her emotional distress, the police arrested the neighbour for abetment to suicide.
The woman was found dead in her flat on Monday. Shortly before ending her life, she had sent a voice message to her friend, stating that her recent fight with another woman in the neighbourhood had caused her emotional distress.
"The two women had a confrontation about a week ago. The voice note indicates that the quarrel caused significant distress to the victim, but the exact trigger for the dispute is unclear," said a police officer.
Based on a complaint filed by the deceased woman's brother, the police filed a case against the neighbour on Tuesday.
Subsequently, they arrested her and produced her before a court, which remanded her in police custody for three days....
