minor's DAD, 6 OTHERS DENIED BAIL IN pune Porsche CASE
MUMBAI, Dec. 17 -- The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rejected the bail applications of seven accused in the Pune Porsche crash case, including that of the father of the accused minor driver.
The allegations against the accused were serious in nature and there was a possibility of them tampering with evidence and influencing the witnesses in the case, the court said while dismissing their bail pleas.
The case dates back to May 19, 2024, when a Porsche, allegedly driven by a 17-year-old boy in an inebriated state, fatally knocked down two IT professionals, Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune. A total of 10 accused, including three Sassoon staffers, are currently in judicial custody, and the court is hearing arguments related to the framing of charges.
On Tuesday, a single judge bench of justice Shyam Chandak dismissed the bail applications of Vishal Agarwal, Ashish Mittal, Aditya Sood, Arunkumar Singh, Ashpak Makandar, Dr Ajay Taware and Dr Shrihari Halnor.
Vishal Agarwal is the father of the prime minor accused, while Dr Taware is the head of the Forensic Medicine Department and Halnor is the Chief Medical Officer at Sassoon Hospital in Pune. Makandar allegedly connected Vishal with Taware and Halnor for swapping the blood samples of the prime accused.
Mittal and Sood have been booked for giving their own blood samples for replacing it with that of the two minor accused....
