Min's PA booked for abetting suicide
MUMBAI, Nov. 24 -- Police on Sunday booked a personal assistant of state environment minister Pankaja Munde and his sister and brother for abetting the alleged suicide of his 28-year-old dentist wife on Saturday.
The father of the deceased, who is from Beed, alleged that his son-in-law was having an affair and subjected his wife to physical and mental torture, which led to her desperate step. The couple had gotten married in February this year.
An uncle of the woman claimed it was not a suicide but a murder conspiracy by the family. "She was a fighter and would never have killed herself," he said. "I request CM Devendra Fadnavis to order a CBI inquiry." In response, the CM said he would speak only after getting the entire information.
Pankaja Munde said she had told the police to conduct an impartial and thorough probe into the incident. "I have also spoken to the deceased's father and I can understand the immense grief he is going through," she said.
