Manipur: 2 killed in CAPF firing during protest over kids' deaths
IMPHAL, April 8 -- Two people were killed and 29 others injured on Tuesday after security forces allegedly fired at a mob that had stormed a CRPF camp in Manipur's Bishnupur to protest the deaths of two children in an explosion.
The violence prompted the authorities to suspend internet and mobile data services and impose curfew in some areas.
The violence was triggered after two children died when a bomb exploded in a house in the Meitei-dominated district around 1 am on Tuesday. The father of the children, a Border Security Force (BSF) soldier, survived with his wife in the incident.
