MUMBAI, May 3 -- A 48-year-old man died and his wife was injured after their scooter toppled when a truck came too close to the vehicle at Kokri Agar in the Antop Hill area on Friday. The police identified the deceased as Rajesh Shinde, a resident of a chawl near the G T B Railway Station on the Harbour Line. Police said Shinde worked for a private company that announced Friday as a holiday. "So he took his scooter to drop his wife, Shraddha, 46, at Wadala, where she works as a house help," said a police officer. When they reached Kokri Agar, a truck came very close to their two-wheeler, causing Rajesh to lose control of the vehicle. The police said that as the scooter toppled, Rajesh came under one of the rear wheels of the truck, while Shraddha fractured both her hands.
