Mumbai, Jan. 5 -- A 38-year-old woman was allegedly molested by a man after a failed robbery attempt at her residence in Malad on Friday. The accused, who lives in the same locality as the victim, was arrested within hours of the complaint and later released after being served a notice, the police said. According to the police, the incident occurred when the woman was alone at home and the accused forcibly entered the house, locked the door from inside and attempted to rob her. He allegedly gagged her mouth and demanded cash, valuables, her mobile phone and ATM card. "When the woman told him there were no valuables in the house, he molested her and forcibly kissed her before fleeing the spot," said a police officer. The woman then approached the Kurar police station, following which a case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Acting on the complaint, the police traced and arrested the accused the same evening. "The accused is unemployed, lives with his family in the same area and has no prior criminal record," the officer added....
