Mumbai, Dec. 7 -- A major fire broke out at a 3,500 sqft wooden works godown in Nagpada on Saturday evening, according to a civic official. As of Saturday night, no injuries were reported. The level-2 blaze erupted around 8 pm at a single-storey godown in Lakdawala Bazaar, located behind Raj Oil Mills on Jehangir Boman Behram Marg. The fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installations, wooden furniture, and sheets in a 3,500 square feet area, officials said. The cause of the fire was not known. The area, also known as Hussaini Lakda Bazaar, houses several commercial godowns and small workshops involved in fabrication and related work. Deputy chief fire officer SD Sawant said that seven fire engines, six jumbo water tankers and two aerial water telescopic towers with a combined water capacity of 16,000 litres were rushed to the spot to bring the situation under control....
