India, June 26 -- The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Wednesday arrested senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia after conducting a raid at his residence in Amritsar for allegedly laundering over Rs.540 crore of "drug money", with the development coming hours after the state agency registered a disproportionate assets case against the former minister. Around 30 sleuths raided Majithia's residence in Green Avenue around 8.30 am amid heavy police deployment, even as the SAD leader and his wife Ganieve Kaur protested the move and accused the bureau of barging into their house. htc...
