Mahayuti vs Thackerays on Marathi manoos, Mumbai
MUMBAi, Jan. 13 -- In their final rallies before the long-awaited BMC elections, Mahayuti leaders and as well as the Thackeray cousins reached out yet again to the Marathi manoos, while taking potshots at each other.
In the Mahayuti's rally at Shivaji Park on Monday, Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde countered the Thackeray cousins' verbal attack against the government at the same venue the previous day. Monday's address was a response to the Thackerays' hinting that "this was the final battle for Mumbai and Marathi manoos".
Pointing to BMC's operations over time, Fadnavis said, "People who were engaged in corruption in the civic body for 25 years and did not do anything for the Mumbai and Marathi manoos" were opposing industrialists and investment.
Meanwhile, in Thane, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and MNS chief Raj Thackeray appealed to Thane voters to beware of the "plan to snatch their city" and cautioned them against accepting money in lieu of votes.
