Mumbai, Nov. 1 -- The city witnessed light rain throughout the day on Friday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting similar weather conditions till November 4. "The cyclonic circulation over the Arabian Sea has weakened, so the rains have reduced. Light showers may continue, but we expect the onset of winter soon," an IMD official said. On Friday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) released a three-hour nowcast in the evening, issuing a yellow alert for Mumbai City, Mumbai Suburban, Thane, Palghar, and Raigad, warning of light to moderate rainfall accompanied by gusty winds reaching 40-50 kmph. The rainfall also brought down the temperatures in the city. The Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 30degC, 4.7degC below normal, and a minimum of 24.2degC. At the Colaba observatory, the maximum temperature stood at 31degC, 3.3degC below normal, with a minimum of 24.8degC. According to the IMD, as the rain subsides, daytime temperatures are expected to gradually rise to around 34degC over the coming week, while nighttime temperatures will remain around 24degC....
