Leopard sparks panic in taloja jail colony
NAVI MUMBAI, Jan. 16 -- A leopard sighting on January 11 in the Taloja Central Jail staff colony has triggered safety concerns. According to prison authorities, the big cat was sighted in the rear portion of the colony, located at the foothills.
"The sighting has heightened concerns for the safety of staff reporting for night duty," said jail superintendent Pramod Wagh. On being informed, the forest department installed two camera traps in the area. "Further action will be taken based on the footage," said range forest officer Gajanan Panpatte....
