Guwahati, Ranchi among five Test venues to host Border-Gavaskar trophy in 2027
New Delhi, March 27 -- The Indian men's cricket team will be in action in 22 international matches across 17 venues at home in the upcoming 2026-27 season, the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Thursday.
Across the 5 Tests, 9 ODIs and 8 T20Is, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and Ranchi are the only centres to host two games in the upcoming home season. The ODIs will have a premium attached with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma expected to feature.
The home season which will kickstart with the West Indies' white-ball tour consisting of 5 ODIs and 3 T20Is begins on September 27.
The ODIs will be played in Thiruvananthapuram, Guwahati and New Chandigarh, with the T20I series taking place in Lucknow, Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
This will also mean the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will host its first international game since October 2024.
India will then host Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and as many T20Is from December 13 to 27. The ODI leg will be played in Delhi, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad, while Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune will host the T20Is.
In January next year, Zimbabwe will tour India for a three-match ODI series, set to be played in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
India's home season will end with the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The hosts will play a five-match Test series against Australia, which will run from January 21 to March 7. The Test matches are scheduled to be played in Nagpur, Chennai, Guwahati, Ranchi and Ahmedabad.
