MUMBAI, Feb. 13 -- It's been a long wait for Aakarshit Gomel from the Shivaji Park Gymkhana nets, where he began as a 10-year-old, to the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team at the age of 26. But when he finally got the chance on Wednesday, against Madhya Pradesh, he grabbed the opportunity with both hands.

In a dream debut, Gomel scored a chanceless 122 to help Mumbai finish the day at the total of 352 for four. He impressed with his sound technique and sure footwork, proving an ideal foil for the attacking Sarfaraz Khan during their partnership of 275 runs.
