Thane, June 13 -- A pipeline of Mahanagar Gas Limited leaked at Gokul Nagar in Thane (West) on Wednesday.
MGL officials, traffic police, Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) and fire brigade reached the spot with a fire engine. The situation was brought under control, informed RDMC official.
According to the RDMC official, the pipe developed a minor leakage while workers were carrying out road construction work. "The incident took place around 5.45 pm, which was resolved within 15 to 20 minutes. The JCB used for the construction work came in contact with the gas pipeline, which had led to leakage," said Santosh Kadam, RDMC, Thane.
